Frequently asked questions
Are commissions available?
Yes, commissions are available for rebinding of used and new books. You may also commission for blank or lined notebooks, or hand-sewn bindings of existing typesets that are owned or public domain.
What genre of books are available?
Any genre except religious texts and first-editions are available at any given time or can be commissioned. This includes some specialties such as safe-for-work covers for extreme horror, reimagining of original book art concepts, and even manga collections.
When will I get my order?
For books listed in the catalog, orders are shipped as soon as possible. For commissions, orders may take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks depending on availability of materials and collaboration time.
How are the books made?
Depending on the type of listing, books are either hand-sewn using acid-free paper or by procuring a printed copy of the book. End papers and book cloth are chosen along with a design, and crafted together by hand. Once a design is created and materials are gathered, the process takes at least a week for drying and stability time.
What options are available?
At the moment, marbled end papers and high-quality cloth fabric is used. Other options include faux leather coverings, embedded or separate bookmarks, and inked page edges for color. You may also choose a pre-existing design and customize it to your preferences.
Future goals include leatherbound books with embossing, metal book corners, and elastic closures for notebooks.
